Origin and varieties of Excelso coffee
The Excelso blend is a blend of Arabica varieties that vary from batch to batch,
1. Caturra – Offers good acidity and balanced sweetness.
2. Castillo – Resistant variety with a sweet and fruity profile.
3. Colombia – A hybrid developed for its resistance and sweet notes.
4. Typica – Old variety with a floral and sweet profile.
Excelso is a natural blend of these varieties, coming from
different farms, which gives it a harmonious but less specific sensory profile than a microlot from a single variety.
